Keeping your Joy in the midst of problems

COLOSSIANS 3: 12

Therefore as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness and longsuffering.

When we were all younger many of us did stupid things; behave indecently, dressed like the world; HELLO Ladies, mini skirts, that show your half your baggy when you bend half way over and, crop tops that how half your hang out breast.

Men wore a lot of bling, the in thing clothes, trousers half way down your bottom like you have poo weighing down the crutch and every new trainers that came out on the market.  Besides dating every woman they fancied.

So now you have become a Christian and you have changed and behold old things have become New, do you still have little childish things, behaviour, motives you have not put away.

Perhaps you are a leader and you've just be ordained and your so excited at the prospect of taking over a big church that your A list you prepared is not quite working the way you want it because you seen something, perhaps somebody elses ministry that you want and you think it's going to help you to elevate yourself and make you feel Good.

So you keep plotting stuff, behind that persons back hoping that some day that their ministry will be laid at your feed, and so you keep trying to coerce that man or woman to work for the NHS or another company but everytime you plot something you realise the HS is telling that other person everything whose ministry you are plotting against; g coverting and get jealous over.

Maybe it's just the fact you want to look the part on the Big Day when you take over the ministry, and maybe its because it is just part of your culture.

The bible says we should put on put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness and longsuffering.  This is the only spiritual clothing that we should wear all day long 24/7, 7 days a week 365 days of the year.

If we are putting on coveteousness, jealousy, envy, hatred, backbiting, gossiping, deception, lies, wickedness, arguments, this will wear us down leave us feeling constantly frustrated, unhappy and unfulfilled and discontented.

Titus 3:2 says speak evil of no one to be peaceable, gentle showing all humility to all men.

1 Peter 5:5 likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders.   Yes all of you be submissive to one another and be clothed with humility for God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.

If there is coveteousness, envy, jealousy, gossiping, contenions, arguments, hatred, lies, backbiting, deception among you then this is because you have not fully submitted yourselves to the elders of the church.

Perhaps you keep trying to force yourself on other people because your so eager to set up a ministry or start your new ministry.

If you are struggling, as a young Pastor in this area Ask God to forgive you for your sins, ask the Holy Spirit to renew a right spirit in you and give you the spirit of contentment, wisdom and ask him to show you what the HS really wants you to do.
