Depleting Our Fun Threads of Creativity

Good morning Mama's and Papa's Baby Bloggers, today I am going to be talking about how to save on using your threads so that they become Fun Threads of Creativity, rather than Fun Threads of Wastage.

Firstly, this photo shows 3 different colour threads, Pink, Blue and Red, as you can see there are four Pink and Blue reels of thread and only two red. The reason for the four threads is because I have an overlocker (Google Overlocker to find out what this looks like and go on Utube to find out how to use one) which I was using when I was sewing my cushions but, I found this was becoming to expensive just to sew small cushions. So I had to find an altenrative solution to make my cushions more environmentally friendly.

So I came up with the perfect solution, now what I do instead of overlocking my seams, I fold over twice the seams to create a much neater seam that is saving on threads by using only "one reel of thread, rather than four", this is about a 95% reduction on wastage which ultimately makes my threads 'Fun Threads of Creativity" not wastage. This method may use a little more time but it helps the planet by reducing the amount of threads that filter into our seas and rivers and that choke the little fishes.

Lastly, in many underdeveloped Poor Countries the overlocker is still widely used, so please remember to support those countries who still rely on the use of the overlocker to provide us with clothing, as this is there only means to support them and their families to take away the use of the overlocker will take away there only means of income.
