Is your toddler ambidextrous

Good evening Mama's and Papa's little bloggers. I hear some of you saying "Ahhhh she's been watching Planet Earth III".

No! in actual fact, I was in hospital sitting before the TV when the thought came to me to do Origami, and that was 2 days before David Attenborough televised Planet Earth III and mentioned making origami animals. The reason why I was thinking about Origami because I was thinking about the way toddlers and young children are educated; not just phonics but they way how they use their right and left brain, how they think, peice things together. Funnily enough I was speaking to a friend today and she said "oh my mother use to buy me Origami books when we were young" I thought amazing thats about 45 years ago?. So our culture knew all about Origami and how to motivate our children to make things.

Curriculums in Schools and nurseries vary and it is important we educate our children not just in nurseries and schools but while we are at home with our kids. I took up Origami, not just a fun hobby or to give me something to do but, to improve my memory and way of thinking and to see how I would manage following instructions to make things. It's taken af few tries but I got there in the end.

Some toddlers are clever and are ambidextrous can use their left hand just as their right hand. I figured that if they are able to use both hands then constructing things would be quite natural to them. So the next time your as a parent are looking for something to improve and help your kids memory try Origami.
