Good morning Mama's and Papa's little Bloggers,
First to note there are 4 people involved in this story Esau, Jacob, Rebekah the mother and Isaac the father.
The story in Genesis 27 1 -8 begins with Isaac telling Esau his oldest that he was old in age and needed to solidify his birthright and pass a blessing onto him. But Rebekah his mother was listening at the door, 'beware of people who like to hang around and listen in on your conversations and help others steal'. Because Rebekah heard Issac speak to Esau this set the whole course for Jacobs life. Genesis 27 9 -14 here these scripture verse explains how the mother Rebekah instilled deception into Jacob that Jacob been enticed and filled with envy went along with the deception. Then the story explains further how Rebekah used an animal skins to disguise Jacob to steal his blessing.
Beware of people who disguise themselves there are plenty out there who defraud people!
from 15 to 29 the story explains how Jacob inherited Esau's Blessing. But in Genesis verse 30 to 40 the story explains Esau lost hope but there was one blessing that Jacob reserved for him verse 40.... And it shall come to pass, when you become restless, That you shall break his yoke from your neck.
The story goes onto speak about Jacob and how he became wealthy he stole his brother's birthright then his blessings. I've heard many church leaders called Jacob a good business man but I heard one church leader tell his congregation that Jacob was a crook!.. As a young Christian i didn't understand why he called him a crook until I read the story properly.
When the bible says 'Jacob I love Esau I hated' they think God hated Esau and God loved Jacob because he had favour and became wealthy but when you go on to read, the bible explains when God met with Jacob and Jacob knew his past sins had caught up with him Genesis 32: 7-11 Jacob even prays "deliver me from the hand of my brother". Then on top of this prayer the bible explains God met him and wrestled with Jacob to beat the deception out of his spirit, so long did he wrestled with him he had to dislocatae his hiip because deception was rooted deep in his spirit. And after God knew his spirit had changed his name was changed to Israel. The story goes onto say that Jacob met with Esau and divided half his wealth with Esau.
The reason why I mentioned this story is because I see alot of deception even in some Christians they base their success on Genesis 30: 41 - 43 by trampling on the weak, they call those who are weak not strong; the singles and older people who have not children and those who have disabilities and, those who are ABLE BODIED all strong when alot of them are weak. They play on other Christians disabilities and fool a lot of other Christians in the church, the are always selective when they choose people to join a team and like to hide their agenda behind those who have disabilities esoecially when it comes to exploting them for moey.
Lastly, their are some churches also that build their church using the Poplar Tree, Old Testament stories used by Jacob instead of building their church on New Testament Principles and on Christ. Such men and Christians need to be silenced.
