The Kermit Syndrome

Good morning Mama's and Papa's Little Bloggers.

Did you ever get labelled Kermit when you were at school or as a youth or did grown ups make snide remarks behind your back and call you Kermit!. Kermit is only a Muppet but the Kermit Syndrome is very real, tor many people because they get stuck just like a conveyor belt going round and round. Life can be like that, very repititious especially when you have children. Some parents feel frustrated that the get up early, get the kids ready for school, collect them from school, do the shopping and go home to cook for the family, and then get them ready for bed for school for the next day.

This may be all you do because your children are at early years age so you get impatient because you want to go back to work. Often in life there is a lesson to learn and it's the little things we often get wrong that we need to learn to have patience and work on.

Back in the day I always use to get confronted with women telling me "its alright for you, you don't have kids, that's why employers will take you on because when you have children they know you will take time off to look after the kids". I believe the Government has recognised this and addressed this issue and balancing work and home/family life has become much easier with the extension of paternity leave for both parents.

But even when the kids are in Secondary School, and you are now working you still feel stuck because your job as admin is very mundane. There are two reasons for this. Some jobs you do are necessary and require mundane work and somebody has to do it. Secondly, without the mundane work many employees will not appreciate what other people do in the work place, so their promotion is often delayed, overlooked because they are not ready for such promotion due to arrogance and immaturity.

If you want to get out of the Kermit Syndrome learn to appreciate people who are less unfortunate than you like 'the Poor', give Generously, get to know people, travel, do voluntary work. Or start a business that involves something meaningful.
