Train your child to say something meaningful

Good morning Mama's and Papa's little Bloggers.

I can remember sitting in church hearing a Senior Pastor telling his congregation, that one day he was talking about someone and all of a sudden his mother turned around to him and said "If you don't have anything good to say about a person SHUT UP!", and rightly so!. So often we talk about people because we don't have nothing better to talk about.

One reason why people gossip is because they are not good at communicating or they lack consderable knowledge. Gossip is not knowledge but idle talk.

Have you ever sat in a cafe and watched 2 adults talk or at work and contemplated a Parents Teachers Meeting, and asked yourself "what do Parents Teachers Meeting talk about? how can they sit around a table for 2 hours and talk?," or for example watched 2 people talking and you notice their conversations does not include gossiping about people but about other meaningful things; like their family life, their kids graduation. Some of you may be asking "well what if you don't have a family, or you haven't been to uni what do we talk about". There is always something to talk about, one question I need to ask you "do you read alot?" This is often the answer to staggered and foolish talk.

Secondly, immaturity is also the reason why many people gossip. The bible says "through lack of knowledge my people are destroyed".

Toddlers play and some kids talk alot among themselves because of early interaction. Some kids talk more than others because they may have many siblings so interaction is formed early. But if you are an only child this can be delayed but this does not mean your child is not incapable of been a great communicator.

The way you teach your children to communicate and acquire knowledge is very important for example, some parents do not have a TV for the reason because they believe it hinders communication. For example my older sister refused to have a TV because she told me "she hates the way how familys huddle up on the sofa with a 'dinner plate in front of them' all watching TV and don't communciate, and they no longer sit around the dinner table talking".
