Therefore, a safe Space created for Residents made available of built on Existing Estates and New Build would be ideal for Some Residents who want to meet other Residents and make friends to share ideas, play games, have a cup of coffee or share a meal together and organise Days Out would benefit some residents.
This Community Centre has served many residents on our estate and the surrounding estates close by but it doesn’t really serve the immediate needs of some Residents when it comes to Safe, Private and Confidentiality.
The New Allocated Room should be situated on the Ground Floor to accommodate Accessibility Needs and should be big enough to accommodate a Wheelchair.
The room will be managed by Residents on Estates who will Volunteer to take turns to run and manage it.
Where Children are expected to sometimes attend with Parents to use this Space, a DBS checks will be required for the residents who are willing to volunteer to run this space to Safeguard Children and Parents.
This space can also be used to by a Professional person in an occupation that has Specific ID. For example the Police, or NHS Professional who will be required to contact the Volunteer to book a time slot to use this Space.
Where you have a residents that needs to be questioned by the Police, or NHS Staff or Fire Brigade. If the resident does not want to be interviewed in their Flat but would rather be interviewed in privately in this Safe Space/room designated for Residents they can redirect the Police or NHS staff to this room to be interviewed.
I have experienced Harrassment from NHS Staff who keep turning up on my door to speak to me for the wrong reasons, but luckily the Police have always been present who can identify when exploitation tactics are been used by NHS Staff.
There is also the aspect of Safeguarding and rehousing for Immigrants. The Government wants to rehouse a lot of immigrants but the locality of some of the places the Government has selected has not always been welcomed by the General Public and especially if it is predominantly in white majority areas.
Iimmigrants today are no longer welcomed in our Society and we need to help some. There is a lot of concerns regarding some immigrants who may have a criminal background who may slip through the net and are rehoused and not monitored.
At least this extra Safe Space Created on a Housing Estate will necessitate the need to safeguard monitor all immigrants properly and especially those with Children.
My proposal above I believe is the best way forward.
